Hypothyroidism

A condition in which the thyroid does not produce enough hormone.

Definition

Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland is underactive and does not produce enough hormone, slowing the body's metabolism. Symptoms include extreme fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, dry skin, and cold sensitivity. It is often missed or dismissed but is usually straightforward to treat with medication.
