Definition
Psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated disease that speeds up the growth of skin cells, producing thick, scaly plaques that can itch or hurt. It is linked to systemic inflammation and can be associated with joint disease known as psoriatic arthritis. It is far more than a cosmetic skin condition.
